A logo, stationery system, and menu were designed for a fictional restaurant called DeKalb Bistro. For this restaurant branding, my concept was to mix contemporary industrial design with handmade craftsmanship. The atmosphere would have a loft ambiance with brick walls and exposed elements. This guided me to the idea that everything would be handcrafted and lithography printed. In a craft workshop, every work is different from the other, the craftsman is not a machine but a creator. This adds a certain inviting and personal atmosphere which is carried throughout the brand.
I created a typographic logo mark which was repeated as a pattern and applied across the various print pieces. This creates a cohesive restaurant brand and adds interest to otherwise dull sections.
